About Kishan Bagh Sand Dune

Kishan Bagh is Jaipur’s first desert ecosystem park, featuring native Aravalli flora, sustainable landscaping, and scenic walking trails. It’s open from April–October, 6–6:30 PM (and winter hours as well), with entry around ₹50.

Kishan Bagh is also known as desert park in Jaipur, which is located in Vidhyadhar Nagar. Once a barren piece of land, it was transformed into a desert ecosystem park by Pradip Krishen using only native plants of the Aravalli region. It offers a rare chance to see how the desert landscape can be rich in life, color, and texture without human interference.

This park features stone walls which is hand-built, gravel trails, and zero irrigation zones. The aim is to educate visitors about arid ecology and the importance of environmental conservation.

History of Kishan Bagh

  • Earlier, it was a wasteland at the base of the Nahargarh hills, which was revived in 2016 by landscape designer Pradip Krishen with support from the Jaipur Development Authority.
  • No lawns, no exotic species, and zero irrigation – a model of sustainable landscape restoration.
  • Today, it’s a living desert museum, celebrating Rajasthan’s natural heritage.
