History of Agra Fort

  • Construction was started in 1565 by Emperor Akbar and later the emperor Shah Jahan enhanced it.
  • Red sandstone used in constuction. There are white marble palaces inside it.
  • The fort served as a seat of governance, a royal residence, and even a prison in history.
